Trilobite in Knitty!

Summer Knitty is up, and my Trilobite hat pattern is a Holiday Head Start item! It's a quick knit, especially if you cable without a cable needle.
Knit it in Berroco Pure Merino Nuance for a stratographic color fade:

Or go with good ol' Malabrigo Merino Worsted, for that smooshy semi-solid effect we all know and love:

More details on Ravelry.

Nicole - thanks for being the best test knitter and model a girl could ever want!

I am twitterpated with your trilobite hat. As a collector of happy rocks and friendly fossils, I just have to knit your design -- one for me and one for my grandson who is a budding pebble pup. Congratulations on getting your pattern published in Knitty.

Love this! I'm not a palentologist, but I am (sort of anyway) a physicist and I really appreciate science-inspired knits and humor. So, kudos. The hat is inspired and lovely to boot!

I just finished making my own Trilobite hat and wanted to say thank you for submitting this pattern to Knitty. This was my first real cable project, and my second with bobbles, and I had a blast.

Thank you!

Also, I hope the boy's sweater works out, I love that you were able to get the TriForce to look so good!

Whee! Just cast on a Trilobite Hat for my husband for Christmas. He's a huge Girl Genius fan, so the trilobite-themed gifts (which he was worried I'd run out of - HA!) will continue. Yay!
